Barren Island

The only active volcano in India is located in Barren Island. The volcano erupted twice in recent past, once in 1991 and again in 1994 - 95, after remaining dormant for about 177 years. This island is about 3 kms in diameter, and has a big crater of the volcano, about half kilometer away from the shore. The island can be visited by chartered boats only with the permission of Forest Department. Foreigners are restricted to on-board vessels only and landing ashore is not allowed.

Trip to Baren Island is through Havelock Island Only, and there is no fix schedule  of boats we have to chatter the boat for the said trip, this is inclusive of snorkeling, The Snorkeling trip to Barren Island - which is India's only Active Volcano will be INR 100,000 (This is a boat charter price).This is a Day Excursion Program night stays are not allowed at Baren island,

Charges will remian the same for  pax limit till from 02-17pax, as the price is for Boat Chatter only.

Total number of Pax can fit on the boat is 17 passengers - However if the guests want to snorkel then we have to take some snorkeling guides as well and thus the total number of pax will drop to 15/16 pax.

The Trip start at early in the morning at 5am or 6am latest.

Journey time is 3 hours

arrival at Barren 8am/9am

Latest we have to leave Barren is at 1.30/2pm to be back into Havelock for 5 pm.

Breakfast and Lunch is provided.
